Remedies for indigestion

 Carom Seeds (Ajwain):

Carom seed or ajwain is known to cure various digestive disorders including indigestion, acidity, flatulence, et al. The active enzymes in ajwain help in boosting the digestive system by facilitating gastric juices. Take ajwain with water for about a week and you can see the difference.

 Ginger (Adrak):

Ginger is another natural remedy for indigestion because it can reduce stomach acid. The same way too little stomach acid causes indigestion, too much stomach acid has the same effect. Drink a cup of ginger tea as needed to soothe your stomach and get rid of indigestion. Other options include sucking on ginger candy or making your own ginger water. Boil one or two pieces of ginger root in four cups of water. Add flavor with lemon or honey before drinking. Limit your ginger consumption to 3 to 4 grams per day. Consuming too much ginger can cause gas, throat burn, and heartburn

 Baking Soda:

The cause of indigestion can be the presence of excess acid levels. Certain foods like beans, cabbage, milk products and onions among others result in indigestion. Baking soda has sodium bicarbonate that acts as an antacid helping to neutralize stomach acid. Sodium bicarbonates react with the excess formation of hydrochloric acid to break down the effect of the acid in your stomach. It also detoxifies the digestive system relieving you from heartburn and indigestion.

 Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most effective cures for indigestion. If you have been suffering from digestion problem, then this one’s for you. It is an excellent source of magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and other minerals that help in digestion. Vinegar is acidic in nature that breaks down fats, preventing acid reflux. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar helps cure indigestion by its alkaline-based digestive attributes

Peppermint tea:

Peppermint is more than a breath freshener. It also has an antispasmodic effect on the body, making it a great choice for relieving stomach problems like nausea and indigestion. Drink a cup of peppermint tea after meals to quickly soothe your stomach or keep a few pieces of peppermint in your pocket and suck on the candy after eating.

Coriander Seeds (Dhania):

Coriander seeds or dhania seeds are known for their antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties that relieve you from an upset stomach or indigestion, further stimulating your digestive process. Coriander consists of an essential oil called Randol that detoxifies the liver and increases appetite, curing indigestion. Take coriander seeds infused water for about a week to see the difference.

Indian Gooseberry (Amla):

Indian gooseberry or amla has various aphrodisiac, diuretic, laxative, carminative, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. These properties help stimulate your digestive process, further curing indigestion, heartburn or acidity. Amle ka murabba is said to be one of the most effective ingredients for curing indigestion.

Lemon water:

The alkaline effect of lemon water also neutralizes stomach acid and improves digestion. Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice in hot or warm water and drink a few minutes before eating. Along with easing indigestion, lemon water is also an excellent source of vitamin C. However, too much lemon water can wear down tooth enamel and cause increased urination. To protect your teeth, rinse your mouth with water after drinking lemon water.

Fennel Seeds (Saunf):

This antispasmodic herb can also remedy indigestion after a meal, as well as soothe other gastrointestinal problems like stomach cramping, nausea, and bloating. Put 1/2 teaspoon of crushed fennel seed in water and allow it to boil for 10 minutes before drinking. Drink fennel tea whenever you experience indigestion. Another option is to chew fennel seed after meals if certain foods cause indigestion. Possible side effects of fennel include nausea, vomiting, and sun sensitivity.

 Hot Water:

Some people claim that drinking a plain old cup of hot water eases indigestion. Simple and unbelievable right? But try it for confirmed easiness.
